So you think you’re prepared to start your new network marketing business and you have done your homework. Then when someone talks with you about the compensation plan they mention the term MLM binary and you scratch your head – what does this mean?
You’re not the only one to be confused. Most MLM compensation plans are incredibly difficult to comprehend unless you happen to be good at maths. MLM binary programs, thankfully , are a selection of the easiest to appreciate.
So What’s an MLM Binary Plan?
As we all know binary means two. So you have to consider everything in pairs. One of the first things that you are going to have to do when you start building your new business is to sign up two new folks who also need to enjoy the financial independence of MLM selling.

Now what is Binary Spillover?
Your 2 new recruits went into the downlines of Dick and Jane and that’s simply what binary spillover means. You have helped them build their business by giving them the 1st folk in their downline. This is one of the huge benefits of the MLM binary plan and if you have an active up line, this may be taking place all of the time and may help you to build your side of the business.
You don’t stop there, you still have to continue to sponsor and hire lots of folk and keep balancing the two legs of the plan with the right people because most plans only pay a commission when the product volumes balance. You will enjoy a lot of spillover, but you will only be compensated when you keep adding new folk.
So although you presumed you were ready to start your business this is another side that you must look at. It is not a question of MLM binary being the right system for you, the question is how are you going to plug your business to build your downline? You have to have a plan to promote your products and also your opportunity to others to build your business.
One question is should you use an internet lead generation system and learn attraction marketing to build your business quicker and become more profitable? What is your marketing budget?
Are you also aware of the fact that in MLM you will be looked up to as a leader by your downline, they will expect you to help them with their business and to achieve their goals. Many individuals make a large amount of money in the MLM business, so really it isn’t the compensation plan that is vital. Your main concern will be the right way to build your business efficiently and speedily.

Rule 4: Sometimes when I need an idea to get me started, I go to one of my coaches blogs and get that idea. You can do the same. You can take those ideas and make them your own or you can do a review on their article about what they said and what it made you think about. The most important thing is to sit down and start clicking the keys on your computer and the ideas will flow.
Rule 5: Your key words need to be near the beginning of your headline. Then in the description, within the first few words. In the body of a 500 word article, you would need to use your key words 5 times, at a rate of 1 per 100 words. Make sure your first one is in the first 90 words. And in the signature box, the anchor text is your key words.
That’s all there is to it. You really can do it. Copy the concepts of this article if you want to. The first one is usually the hardest. I’m an old hick redneck from Idaho and I didn’t think I would ever be able to do it. However, after I just decided to start one, I found that I really liked it. It hasn’t presented a problem since. Just go and have fun comparing your life experiences to article writing.

It promoted self-help products such as internet-based audio visual presentations with promising titles such as ‘Mastering Money’ and ‘Wealth Fundamentals’. “Success depends on the number of people they can recruit, and in turn on the number those below them can recruit. Ultimately pyramid schemes must fail as it becomes harder and harder for participants down the chain to recruit people. Inevitably people will lose their money”. Emerald was closed almost at the same time in the US.
My point is in the future how to prevent this type of tragedy from happening. It was claimed by Emerald Passport that the brutal worldwide economic recession is the reason for the business shutdown. Some top distributors of this business concluded it to be the poor administration. Well, if you have a thorough look back at this business, you would find it was just a cash pyramid scheme, a business scam! At the very beginning it was NOT a real business opportunity! The followings are my study:
1. Emerald Passport’s product cost did not match with its value
Product price and value have to match in order for a business to grow healthily and last very long time. Unfortunately, I do not see this point from Emerald Passport.
a. Emerald Passport’s preliminary sign up fee is $1295. You would be able to have access to their teaching system (merchandise) after enrollment. In addition to that, two upper lever conferences that cost $8000 and $13,000 were required to attend. These conferences were kept a secret (you have to pay first before you know the details), and was claimed for self-development. Emerald Passport always held the conferences in Panama, which I doubt the reason. Traveling to Panama might only be just an plea on the massive charges that people must pay for some under-the-table reasons without proving the real value that the conferences may bring to people.
b. One indication that represents the value of a product in a network marketing company is the proportion of people who purchased the merchandise as regular individuals (other than distributors of this corporation) within the total clients. While I do not know that percentage in Emerald Passport, I have never heard anyone who paid $1295 enrolling fee, and paid extra $8000 and $13,000 to travel to Panama only for the so called great training on self-growth, not want to make money from that process. I did not say nobody, but one fact is sure: the proportion of people that did that is very small, if it is not zero. This leads us to the conclusion that the value of Emerald Passport’s “self-improving educational product ” was over-estimated. Emerald Passport successfully convinced those people that they can make a lot of money from that process. That is the reason why people still buy those products. Bear in mind this most important point: making a lot of money, not from the result after learning their “self-improving educational product”, but FROM THAT PROCESS. How? It is through the Compensation Plane of this Emerald Passport.
2. The product is just the cover for pyramid scheme
All the testimonials as to the success of putting these “educational materials” to use I heard of were from those reselling the merchandise and making $1000 on a $1295 product. The people who got “success” in Emerald Passport are making money from those recruiting process, rather than the result of those expensive self-improving and real estate training.
3. Conclusion:
After reading this article, after looking back at Emerald Passport, you are supposed to find out that Emerald Passport was NOT a real business opportunity. At least it was not built on a solid foundation. I hope this review would help you to avoid this type of scam companies in the future.

I hear all the time people say, “I don’t have time” or “You don’t understand, I have kids” or “Fill in the blank”.
Hey, I’m not here to tell you what to do and chances I’m preaching to the choir if you’re already in a home based biz. However, you may or may not be applying your time effectively.
Are you really getting the results you desire?
Figure out a time commitment that works for you and your family. As an example, commit to just one hour per day to building the business, while working a full time job. If you’re full time at home, then work it!
While the time might sound small one hour a day) it works and becomes a daily goal, helps you focus and become effective in the time allotted.
Goal setting can get out of hand if you’re goals aren’t realistic.
First, believe in your dreams and go for it….but baby steps, baby steps. What I mean is set a few goals that you can achieve in the next 30 days or less. Build that mindset muscle and see self esteem grow and eventually go through the roof.
Next, decide on some 60 day and 90 days goals each time building towards more success and satisfaction. Hey, being a Double Whammy Bammy Blue Diamond is great but how about making your first sale or your first $1,000 or $2,000 month and go from there? Does that make sense?
The major thing is keep it simple and focused on your highest payoff activities. An example, would be to make sure you speak to (yes, I said speak to) 3 people a day about your business opportunity. Another example, would be to have one piece of marketing implemented and done weekly. Still yet, commit to a certain amount of follow up (specific number and goal) in order to collect a decision from a prospect, etc.
The major problem is to lose focus and use your time to straighten up your desk or listening to all the company training calls, etc. Just make sure 80% of your time spent on working your business is results-driven activity.
As you get better at running your business it gets easier to figure out ways to achieve goals in a realistic time frame. I’m here if you need me.

Having the right mindset when beginning or operating a business is a critical to your success but it is often an overlooked area.

So for eight straight hours a day the worker completes the tasks associated with his or her job. Many studies have indicated that the average employee works a productive 6 hours a day or even much less. In other words, there is a lot of non-productive time in that 8 hour work day and multiplied over days, weeks and months; the about of lost productivity is huge.
For example if you are in or beginning a home based business there may be a time period while employee mentality fights to stay in control. As an entrepreneur you are now “paid for results”. So appearing to be busy to keep the boss happy or wasting time with unimportant activities needs to be eliminated.
NOW, at this point the great mindset comes in. It has been called many things such as positive thinking, The Secret or The Law of Attraction; but all in all, this concept must be applied to see success. You might be asking what this has to do with thinking like a successful business owner. Everything!

This is a very sad thing…he had a good attitude with me but he didn’t “get it” and is looking for the secret or the magic bullet to riches from home. Guys, it doesn’t work like that.

I get asked all the time. “Al Rod, what do you think about this MLM opportunity?”
This is ONLY one example of a traditional MLM. Let’s say it’s one of the “hot” new binary hybrid compensation plans that “say” they pay 50-55% commission. Very Wrong!
There’s breakage meaning that for every $100 worth of water or juice you buy; you will be credited with a lower percentage of commission-able volume and that can range from 50% to about 77% of the actual dollar spent. That’s huge and right away decreases what you think you would earn. Then there is breakage on rank advancement which means that if you don’t qualify for a certain bonus or rank even though you may have the dollar volume; the company keeps this portion of the money and therefore reduces the actual payout.
Okay auto-ship. Let’s say that you spend $250 per month because you are at a certain rank level that requires 4 boxes or 4 cases of this or that. Well, that’s $3,000 a year in product or $15,000 a year in the next 5 years of business and more over a 10-20 year career. This isn’t good or bad; just the facts.
Yes and we said this is a binary. I realize you will get the whammy bammy bonus, maybe the car bonus or the impossible to calculate 2% global bonus but the binary pays on the lesser leg. Binary means you build two team or two legs; a right and a left one AND if one runs away you could effectively have 1,000 people on one leg and 200 on the other. Yes, you guessed it; you get paid on the lesser or smaller leg to the tune of about 10% or so. 200 people on the lesser leg consuming 100 points of product per month is, $20,000 in volume or about $2,000 a month.
Top Tier has their pros and cons…It is more expensive upfront to join most of these business models to the tune of $1500 to $2000 but there is no auto-ship with most of these companies (check for specifics) and that should be considered. The next thing to consider is the upfront payout. In a traditional MLM, you get someone to join for say $499 and you make anywhere from $90 to about $140.
In a top tier, a $1500 or so sale earns you about $1,000. It takes no more effort to bring someone in at a higher level than at a $499 and $250 level and yet the upfront money is huge. Four sales monthly or one a week in a top tier can earn you $4,000 per month not counting the passive or residual income. In a traditional MLM if you sponsored one a week you may earn about $400 month (huge difference).
This $400 a month helps pay your auto-ship of $250 and the company replicated site, shipping and maybe you have $100 at best left for you; think about this.
In conclusion, Top Tier tens to attract a more motivated entrepreneur and pulls lots of people that are not in MLM or network marketing as the higher income and professionalism of some of these companies s very appealing. The marketing strategies also typically make more sense than the MLM home parties and chase your family and friends scenarios.

The business model is direct sales meets network marketing and has 3 basic products including Elevate a 72 day home study course with a DVD, CD’s, a journal, workbook and online features to include coaching, social media and accountability grid.
The course comes with a 72 day money back guarantee which I thought was saying a lot about their product.
The compensation plan is a good mix between what is large upfront income and passive income. The commissions are large enough at the lower level; that people can realistically earn thousands of dollars their first 30-days without being some recruiting superstar.
The plan pays on four levels and there is no auto-ship. This alone is an interesting component when you compare it to say a nutritional MLM that requires you to purchase $250 worth a product a month. In one year that’s $3,000 spent on vitamins or juice and imagine how much that adds up to in just 5 years.
This model will attract more professionals who would normally not give a hoot about MLM and that is key and huge if you think of a wider market that can appeal to more people. I say this because personal development is appealing to a broad audience and the business is not built in the traditional sense with home parties, etc.
