The announcement that Smallville is ending just came from Tom Welling, who wasn’t supposed to let the information slip just yet, but told the press on Tuesday evening. It was expected that news like this would come out when the CW released their final fall 2010 schedule, and that would have been announced on Thursday, May 20th. This has been a very successful run for Smallville on CW, a show which has worked hard to build the mythology of Superman by telling the story of his life before he actually started donning the suit and cape.
